Electronic System Engineer
Long Island, NY location - Relocation assistance provided. Stable, growing company seeks electronic design engineers for their Long Island, NY facility. They are well-established and have a strong product portfolio in electronics, providing high-reliability communications, networking and power solutions for aerospace, defense, industrial, and space applications. New technologies are being developed for their customer base in the US and internationally.
Our client is currently seeking an intermediate to senior-level electronic system engineer. Qualified individuals will have a strong depth and breadth of experience in electronics, systems and Ethernet technology. Responsibilities include product specifications, requirements and architecture, verification, design and development of innovative hardware and software, planning and scheduling, project management, mentoring, continuous improvement, certification, etc.
Small company experience is desired.
Qualifications
BS degree in a technical discipline; MS preferred
5+ years of relevant work experience
Leadership design skills in technical disciplines such as analog circuit, digital circuit, software, and/or system design
Demonstrated ability to develop, articulate and present technical information appropriately targeted to meet the needs of audiences at all levels
Development of technical strategies coordinated with Marketing and/or Sales
Conduct field or outside lab tests and evaluations
Perform CCA (Circuit Card Assembly) design specifying mixed-signal technology circuits consisting of processors, I/O communications, and programmable logic devices (FPGA, CPLD)
Strong RTL coding/simulation/debug capabilities using VHDL and/or Verilog (VHDL preferred)
Experience with RTL simulation, Synthesis, and Static Timing Analysis in one or more of the following toolsets: Xilinx Vivado, Altera/Intel Quartus, Lattice Diamond, and Microsemi Libero
Familiarity with multiple networking protocols including PCIe, 1G/10G Ethernet, Fibre Channel, 1553, 1394
Strong skills and experience in troubleshooting hardware issues using software and hardware tools
Software/hardware design experience in High-Speed Networking, including IEEE 802.1Q Ethernet switching, TCP/IP protocols, and VLANs
Experience with MIL-STD-1553, Fibre Channel, ARINC-429 and DO-254 is highly desirable
Due to US export control laws, candidates must be US citizens, Permanent Residents or Green Card Holders
